結婚して姓が変わり、旧姓の私は法的には存在しなくなった。
世の中の使われなくなった旧姓の氏名たちは どこへ行ってしまうのだろう。
もしかすると、闇市場で取引されているのかもしれない。
名前をアクリルキーホルダーに刻み、アーティスト・橋本美和子が企画する「闇市」に出品した。
Upon getting married, I chose to change my family name to my husband’s, like the overwhelming majority of Japanese women do.
Now my former full name is no longer legally valid. But what will happen to it, I wonder? It cannot just vaporize as if it had never existed.
Perhaps, I thought, they are sold at a black market somewhere.
I created these to show at a conceptual black market organized by fellow artist Miwako Hashimoto.

その後、この問いは私一人のものではないと気づき、現在は、使われなくなった名前をその持ち主とともにアクリルキーホルダーに刻む参加型プロジェクトへと発展させ、2027年の展示に向けて準備を進めている。
Since then, I have come to realize that this question is not mine alone. The work is now growing into a participatory project with an exhibition planned for 2027.
